Responsibilities in your new role as Trainee Transport Planner As a Trainee Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the planning and coordination of daily transport schedules to optimise vehicle and driver utilisation. You will support the preparation of delivery routes, monitor transport activities, and communicate with drivers and customers to ensure smooth operations. Your keen eye for detail will help maintain accurate records of deliveries and assist in analysing transport data to identify areas for improvement. You will also be trained in using transport management systems and mapping tools to support reporting and route planning, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. Your personality, experience and qualifications We are looking for someone who is genuinely eager to embark on a journey in logistics and transport. You should be a 100% team player, yet confident in making independent decisions when required. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations, especially during peak seasons, is crucial. Your interest in logistics and transport, combined with a knack for quick learning of our Transport Management System and processes, will set you up for success. Strong communication skills are a must, as you will be engaging with customers and hauliers regularly. A basic knowledge of MS Office is also necessary for this role.
